Långfilm Productions is growing steadily. Since the foundation of the company in 2001, Långfilm Productions has created contacts to the film-industry in other countries. The company has made good contacts especially in Sweden , but the aim has all the time been to find good partners all around Europe. At the moment there are a couple of projects under development that involve at least three European countries. The company´s first feature film "Iris" had its theatrical opening in August 2011, the second "The Disciple" opened the 19th September 2013.
Långfilm Productions is part owner of another company, which is associated with the business. It is a company that sells comprehensive audio production services – Sound of Silence Oy. Långfilm Productions has deliberately aimed at being as self-sufficient as possible when it comes to documentaries and lighter fiction. With two off-line editing units, audio, camera and lighting equipment and the cooperation and part ownership in Sound of Silence, the company stands on a solid ground. Långfilm Productions can also provide production services for all kind of projects.
Quick winnings have not been the driving force of the company, instead it has slowly but surely created a place for itself within the film industry in Finland. Projects developed during the first years lifted the company to the position of a promising and highly artistic company a few years later. This position has been the solid foundation on which the company has produced or co-produced close to 50 projects to date. By producing it´´s first full-length feature-film, Iris, Långfilm Productions has also proven that the organisation measures up, even when it comes to large projects. The fact that the company has held the budget and kept it under scrutiny during the whole process reinforces the image of a unified and solidly built company.
